Ask yourself, are you mindlessly going through the motions or are you actually locked in and stimulated with each rep? Slow and controlled creates greater time under tension and builds hypertrophy. Faster concentric reps are great for power and explosiveness. Including pauses at weak points will help build strength at the specific joint angle. One of my favorite methods of training is a slow 3 second excentric, 1 second iso hold at the bottom and 1 second concentric.
