While progressively overloading via increasing load is great, most find that they hit a wall that they can’t overcome and get frustrated. When this happens, doing the complete opposite of what you were doing is a great way to get over the hump. one of my favorite ways to program is by doing similar movements you’re accustomed to (i.e. squats & lunges) but with a suitcase carry hold. This simple change changes your center of mass and builds strength and stability in muscles that are often not trained. Training this way for a few months will create new a stimulus and growth. Give this method a try the next time you hit a wall in your training. less
