Too ma… more 3 Keys To Maximize Your Warm Up & Cooldown Routine: 1. Movement with Intention - Focus on movements that you will be performing during your main workout. Too many times I see people doing all types of different things as a warm up, then do nothing similar during their main movements. Bodyweight movements, bands and light weights are great options. 2. Emphasis on Breathing - the goal of the cooldown routine is to slow down your heart rate to enter the parasympathetic (state of recovery) state as quickly as possible. For 5-10 minutes post workout, do some static stretching and use the 3-2-1 breathing technique (3 second inhale, 2 second hold, 1 second exhale). 3. Don’t over do it - You should not be drenched in sweat and exhausted before you even start your main lifts. Keep it 10-15 min max and start getting into your main movements.
