In… more The feature of my collection, Starry Night✨ This choker may be part of my wizard line, but the inspiration for the design was Doctor Who's Van Gogh episode. In the episode, the Doctor goes back in time to investigate a strange figure seen in one of Van Gogh's paintings. Fun monster stuff follows, but at the end of the episode, the Doctor takes Vincent to the present day and walks him around the art museum where his paintings line the walls. The Doctor asks the museum director what he thinks of Vincent Van Gogh's work, and the director replies with compliments of his skill; that a man can turn such pain in his life into masterpieces as one of history's greatest artists. And you can bet your butt the moment Vincent starts to tear up, every person watching that episode was already in shambles 😭 I was obsessed with Doctor Who in highschool, and the Vincent Van Gogh episode immediately became and remains my favorite from the show. While I am a traditional artist at heart, sewing and design through the creation of chokers is also an art medium and it's one I cherish!
