Turned out she lived within 45 mins and was planning to run a half marathon in March in Kansas City. When I decided to sign up too, I figured we’d say hi at the starting line and then run our own races. What are the odds we would wind up pacing each other the whole way?! She said I pushed her, but the reality is we pushed each other. There were times she was flying and I had to tell myself “keep up!” In the end, I smashed my previous time by 6 mins!
