Even if some of the artists themselves were just pandering to their working class fanbases their music can be conversation starters with people to help connect the dots. I am an example of someone who took some of these artists messages to heart and let them shape who I am today and ultimately live up to the morals of their songs in ways that the artists themselves have failed to. I refuse to give up on working class folks from Texas, the south, and rural places across the country who haven't quite seen what's written in the stars... that all working people are on the same side and we gotta find some common ground if we wanna liberate ourselves from the oppression of the wealthy elites.
