She’s my favorite princess and I had this core m… more I started cosplaying in 2015. Back then I knew the biggest project I’d ever tackle would be Cinderella’s dress. She’s my favorite princess and I had this core memory of my 3rd birthday where I wore her dress for the first time. I remember feeling so pretty and so happy that I knew I wanted to recapture this feeling. But why did it take me 10 years to tackle this project? Well, I was scared. Scared my skills weren’t enough to realize this vision I had in my mind. I wanted to get this right from the get go and not look in the mirror without that same core memory turning on. So I waited. I learned to style wigs. I learned to pose. I learned to sew. And this year, the 10th anniversary of me cosplaying, was when I finally said I’d do it. I’m so insanely proud of myself for being able to do the dress just like how I imagined it. Are there mistakes? Yes. But small enough that when I look in the mirror I completely ignore them and see only the princess I’ve always admired and wished to be.
