This includes: bats, coyotes, foxes, skunks, raccoons, and bobcats. I want to focus on bats in particular here, though. 🦇 If you ever find a bat on the ground, 🚫 DO NOT EVER PICK IT UP BAREHANDED! 🚫🙅🏼♀️ Bat bites/scratches are sometimes so small you cannot see or feel them. Rabies is 100% fatal in humans when it is not treated. Shots are non-negotiable when you have handled a bat barehanded. (If found to be +) Bats cannot take off from the ground, which is sometimes why they are found there. They require at least a 4-6 foot drop to take flight. If you find a bat (uninjured) on the ground that needs help, **ALWAYS** wear thick (welding) gloves, or even a small branch to move them to a nearby tree. 🌳 RVS (bats, especially) MUST be euthanized and tested for rabies when the public touches them barehanded.
