Planning my life around alcohol. → not making any early morning plans after the day I drink, choosing what to eat, choosing where to go, who to hang out with, what workout routine, how I managed finances … all planned around alcohol 2. Thinking drunk honesty was cool. → I thought I was being “real”… but I was mostly just being rude. 3. Living at only 60% of my potential. → Always tired. Always recovering. Never fully showing up. If this is my 60%, what would my 100% look like ? 4. Believing drunk conversations were “real connections.” → Deep talks at 2am… that neither of us remembered the next day. And thinking alcohol was necessary to have deeper conversations. 5. Being hungover at work and laughing about it. → Like it was some badge of honor. 6. “Work hard, play harder.” → Destroying my body as a ‘reward’ for working hard. 7. Calling myself a “functional alcoholic.” → Joking about being an alcoholic like it was some funny personality trait. What do you romanticize about alcohol ?? 🍺 On Day 45 of my 100 sobriety journey. less
