I taught Sun… more ⬇️ Bracing myself for impact on this one… To be fair, I get it. I used to be a diehard Christian. Church every Sunday. Youth group every Wednesday. I taught Sunday school. Went on missions trips to Mazatlán. Kept a Bible in my locker all through high school. Virgin and didn’t drink until 18. Then later, like many people, I went from Christianity → New Age spirituality… and now I’m in a completely different place with God and my beliefs than either of those. Which is why I didn’t “fall into the Jesus trend” that’s happening right now. Not because I don’t believe in Jesus I do. Deeply. But because what I align with is following him… not worshipping him. And yes, for me, that distinction matters. Because Jesus never asked to be worshipped. But, over time, humanity did what humanity does and turned the messenger into the message. People started worshipping the finger instead of looking at what the finger was pointing to. It’s not wrong, it’s just human. We’re wired to idolize those who reflect back the greatness we’ve forgotten in ourselves. ⚠️Because remembering… that would mean the power isn’t “out there” in someone else it’s here, within each of us. And taking that kind of responsibility? Putting back the power into our hands?
