After COVID shut down Women Empower X - the event business I had built and was genuinely obsessed with - I didn't know what to do next. Someone I deeply respected said: "Don't follow your passion. Follow the money." So I did. Courses. Memberships. The finance and investment world. All of it had potential. All of it made sense on paper. But something felt off the entire time and I couldn't name it. Then I became a mom to twins. Suddenly I have a finite window to work. I'm up at 5am before they wake up, and I realized, I can only push through that for something I actually believe in. Not just something that pencils out. Not everyone is wired this way. My husband is a pure money-driver and it works beautifully for him. The problem wasn't the advice. The problem was I was taking advice built for his personality and wondering why it didn't fit mine. Then Reese Witherspoon said something that stopped me cold: "Don't follow your passion. Follow your talents." Because when your talents meet what you love? The money follows.
