In adults and older kids, our mature digestive systems neutralize these spores before they can cause harm. But in babies under 12 months, the gut isn’t developed enough to do this. The spores can germinate, produce toxin, and cause infant botulism, a serious illness that causes muscle weakness, poor feeding, and in severe cases, breathing failure. No amount is safe before age 1. ✅ After the first birthday, honey is fine for healthy children. Share with new parents! #honey #babies #pediatrician less
